The resume is a very important document since it is the resume which wins an interview for you. Yes resume is read for only 10 to 20 seconds. It is in this time that the decision is made that you are shortlisted or not. If you are shortlisted you are called for the interview, otherwise you are left behind. Now if not at first, can easily understand what importance of resume is.

Many thinks, that they are writers, but I must tell you that professional writing is something different. A professional writer uses professional words which are prominent in the market.  I must tell you that resume should be professionals. I have seen kids spending hundreds of dollars while preparing their resume. However you can make your own resume if you pay a little bit of caution.

1. Write everything clearly and to the point. For example your address and mobile number should be written at the top so that the reader could contact you easily.
2. Do some research on the company where you are applying?  Write in your resume only those skills that are required by the company.
3. Never forget to add references. This is the crucial aspect of any resume and can win you a position.

I have told almost every thing by these things. The next important thing is to know why the resume is so important. Have you ever seen any pamphlet containing the details of a new product to be launched? You can easily understand why it is so important. The same is the case with resume.

You should realize that you will not be allowed to tell verbally about yourself. On most of the case the employer just asks for the resume and you are not called. He calls you only if your resume is found suitable. Now you can understand that if resume is so important then how you can neglect it. Yes the answer is obviously no. we cannot neglect the resume and should pay proper attention towards it.

I would like to tell you one more point and that is that suppose you are in Florida and you get a call from San Francisco, California. What will you do? You will surely have to provide them the information about you. You must realize that it will take time to fly to San Francisco and the company might not provide you that much time. They will not accept the informal mail as well. Hence it’s important that that you build your formal resume and mail them as earliest as possible. This is the only solution.
