Counseling is one of the ways to help others in the process of a search related to different field. For example, you can think about counseling of students to help them select the best possible college. In any kind of counseling the main job of counselor is to read the mind set of the person who is taking part in counseling and then assist him in best possible way. You will have to help others by guiding them. Career counseling is the most common type of counseling. I would like to talk about career counseling in deep. As far as career counseling is concerned, this type of counselor is supposed to provide the tips related to various types of careers which the student can pursue. For example there can be a counseling session for pursuing engineering courses. You can provide assistance to the engineering students about engineering courses.

However it is not so easy to guide some body to join specific engineering courses. You will have to have very deep knowledge related to engineering. However I would like to tell you that there are different types of counseling courses. After pursuing these courses you will be well equipped about what you have to do during the counseling. I must also tell you that career counseling is the most common and popular counseling practice. You can earn a lot as far as career counseling is concerned.

As far as job of career counselor is concerned, his/her main job is to point out the strong points of the seeker and then inform him about different options in front of him. He/she is also required to give the seeker the detailed information of the career which will best suit him.

There are also some counselors who insist in choosing the best jobs. In this case they are required to give the details related to jobs and also give them the description about what they will have to do in these jobs. For example the counselor can insist a smart boy to join the sales and marketing jobs. However he will also have to give the complete description about the job which includes information related to those jobs.

I would at last just want to say that as a counselor you will have to do multiple jobs and the diploma course will get you ready with all the requirements which are required for the job.
