Career is very important for anybody. All of us try to improve our career somehow. Once you have chosen career, you have to stick to it. It’s only once or twice in ones life which he has to change the field. It’s always advisable that one chooses a career properly and sticks to it throughout his life. He/she will soon find that he gets promoted more often if he/she sticks to one.

Lots of advices can be given. Some are:

1. Develop a job search plan: Make sure the job which you are engage with should not be left before one year. If you find that after one year you are getting some good opportunity else where you can go. However first of all look for an opportunity in the company you are working. If you don’t get any then go for a better opportunity. You can continue searching for job always. Nobody knows when you will get better opportunity.
2. List your achievements: You should always make sure that you keep a history of achievements you have been able to achieve throughout your life.  Employers always looks that what can you do for his business. They want to know the list of job which went beyond your job role. Take track of the last twelve months and find out what extraordinary you have done. You can also list some special project.
3. Revamp your CV:  You CV just do one thing for you that is it wins interview calls for you. The average recruiter will only spend 20 to 30 seconds to see your resume. But building a new resume is very important. Employer wants to know what extraordinary you can do for him.
4. Decide the type of company you want to work for: You should decide at first the type of company you would like to work. You have to spend about 70% of your time in office work. Therefore you should decide whether the job is suited to you or not. All the jobs being posted in job sites these days give you an insight of the job you to do. So you can check whether which job is best suited to you.
5. Use the web: You should use the internet for better opportunities. You can search various job sites and come up with extraordinary opportunity.
6. Create your own network: You should create you own network. You should be in contact with all your friends. Anyone of you can come up with opportunity.
7. Create proper CV with cover letter.
8. Stay positive.
9. Dress to impress.
